If you’re curious as to why Victoria is called “The Garden City,” then you have to visit Government House. Home to the Lieutenant Governor of BC, Government House is where all the important ceremonies are held. This is where the Queen of England stays when she’s in town! So you know that the House is elegance through and through.
As spectacular as the House is, the gardens are even better. Best of all, they’re open (and free!) from dawn to dusk every day, so you can wander to your heart’s content. There’s a Native plant garden, an English country garden, an herb garden and much much more.
