The Cowichan Valley is made up of many different communities who share resources, such as schools, but are able to maintain their unique and distinctive flavours. Known as “the warmland” by the First Nations Peoples, the Cowichan Valley has the warmest average temperatures in Canada, and is positioned in Canada’s only Maritime Mediterranean climactic zone. The mild climate makes the Cowichan Valley an ideal location for agri-tourism (check out the farms, markets and vineyards), and outdoor activities such as windsurfing, hiking, biking, kayaking, tubing and swimming.
