The Post Office
If you need to mail a letter or send a package, there is a full-service Post Office at 704 Yates Street . It’s open 9am-5pm Monday-Friday. It’s illegal to send BC Bud to your friends, so your best bet is to smoke as much as you can here and tell them the stories. It is also illegal to send small animals but that's probably the same everywhere.
Only a few steps further than the main post office, with longer hours, is the one located inside Shopper’s Drug Mart at 1222 Douglas Street. Their post office is open Monday-Friday 7am-6:15pm, Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 9am-5pm. Contact them at 250-381-4321. Or if you need to speak to Canada Post, it's 1-800-267-1177.
For fun postcard ideas, get yourself a cheap second-hand Polaroid camera from Value Village, take pictures with it, and write on the back of them.
The Public Library
Books, magazines, internet access, DVDs, and a beautiful courtyard to read in! There's a main library downtown (the nearest one to the hostel and the biggest location) and a number of different branches in the outlying areas.

City Hall
This is where you'll need to go to pay parking tickets, get busking and special event licences etc. It's just down the street - the big red brick building that you can see from our front door.
