We've had one good experience after another with DTI. They're a local business that has a few branches, and one of 'em is five minutes' walk away. They know everything, they're super-helpful, and they actually attend to your needs after you buy stuff from them. It's amazing.

If you need computer stuff and DTI's closed, head a bit farther up Yates to Compusmart. They're a big Canadian chain with a solid reputation, good prices, and great selection. They're also starting to get a decent selection of digital cameras and music players.

The used computer parts center of Victoria. If you need some upgrading done, if you're looking to buy or sell some used PC parts, or if you want a new custom-built PC for super-cheap, this is where to go.

If you're looking for digital cameras, camcorders, mp3 players etc, this is probably the place.
A&B Sound
It's a big store, and they only seem to hire really weird guys for the electronics section, but they've got a solid selection of sound gear, car stuff and consumer electronics at decent prices. They also have crazy sales several times a year. Really crazy sales. As in people-line-up-at-4am-to-get-in kind of sales.
